NAACP Philadelphia Branch Sponsors Criminal Justice Forum

The NAACP is in its 109th year of struggle to free our society of racial hatreds and discrimination. One of the crucial areas where systemic institutional racial hatred has manifested is in the Criminal Justice System. We have legal harassment from racial profiling in police stops to re entry concerns as returning citizens seek to rebuild their lives.

The NAACP is inviting you to attend an historic Criminal Justice Forum Friday April 13th and Saturday April 14th at the Church of the Advocate 1801 Diamond Street. Friday’s program begins at 7:00pm and Saturday begins 11:00am to 2:00pm. Police Commissioner Ross, Blanche Carney Philadelphia Prison Commissioner, District Attorney Larry Krasner and State Representative Jordan Harris Chair of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus will address us. Pam Africa community Activist will also join us with other Community stakeholders.

We hope you will join us for an informative weekend that promises to deal with the death penalty, unconstitutional police stops, mass incarceration, recidivism and other pressing issues affecting the safety budge
