
On June 6, 2018, the National Academies Roundtable on the Promotion of Health Equity will host a one-day public workshop on The Effects of Incarceration on the Health and Well-Being of People and Communities of Color in Philadelphia, PA. The workshop will include panelists who will discuss topics relating to mental health and substance use disorders associated with incarceration, the lower life expectancy relating to incarceration in communities of color, and the impact on communities with large numbers of members who are imprisoned.

Important Notes: - Check-in begins at 8:15 am in the lobby outside the auditorium. - The workshop will NOT be webcast. In-person attendance only. - Workshop presentations will be posted on the webpage approximately 2 weeks after the event for free download. - Workshop proceedings (a written document of what occurred at the workshop) will be available in the months following the workshop for free download on the main Roundtable website.
