Job Description

Scope of Position • Provide on-site services at the Appletree Intake Center • Provide counseling, support, and educational career services to individuals reporting to the center • Advocate for and coordinate services on behalf of individuals and their families • Facilitate linkage to the PA CareerLink® Philadelphia public workforce system • Implement quality services with a trauma informed, culturally competent background • Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning • Efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously and work in an independent work setting

Essential Functions • Develop rapport with and connect community members to opportunities through presence onsite and connection to workforce services • Use a strength-based, trauma informed approach to develop individualized plans to assist customers to address personal, family, and behavioral health focused issues that affect their employability, can be done in individual or group settings • Utilize Goal 4 It assessment and goal setting framework • Coordinate and facilitate educational workshops from PA CareerLink® Philadelphia curriculum and other curriculum approved by Philadelphia Works • Facilitate group support sessions of customers experiencing similar issues; • Coordinate with PA CareerLink® staff to effectively serve the needs of job seekers, and provide information that will assist in the development of employment opportunities, on-the-job trainings, paid work experience, internships and transitional work. o Facilitate WIOA registration and EARN enrollment of individuals, when appropriate o Maintain an organized database of all customers and keep detailed documentation of all contact o Complete data entry in appropriate systems of record, as identified by Philadelphia Works o Facilitate connection of individuals with job opportunities o Manage participant retention services and follow through with planned activities to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract. • Support the use of virtual tools and services available through PA CareerLink® Philadelphia • Identify the various agencies/departments where individual is receiving services, and provide coordination of services • Demonstrate trauma-informed, culturally competent service delivery at all times • Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies

Experience and Skills

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology required • 1-2 years of experience in providing case management, counseling, therapy, and other supportive services • 1-2 years of experience in providing services to vulnerable populations • Understanding of trauma-informed service delivery • A commitment to innovative service delivery, problem solving, and a strong ability to take initiative • Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requirements change • Knowledge of Microsoft Office • Must have notable experience in a team-oriented environment
