Lamont Jones knows what it’s like to live behind bars one minute and then be thrown back into society the next.
“I came home in 2008. There were no mentoring programs in place but luckily I had a support group. There are many coming home without a support group,” said Lamont Jones, Breaking the Chainz Vice President.
Breaking the Chainz is a Harrisburg-based program aimed at keeping adults and teens from ending up in jail.
From Dauphin County over to Cumberland County the mission is the same. The Cumberland County Adult Reentry Program is looking for volunteer mentors. Those wanting to learn more were invited to the county courthouse Thursday.
