The Office of Homeless Services put together a blog with everything you need to know about the end of Pennsylvania's cash benefit known as General Assistance (GA).
After July 31, 2019, the program no longer exists.
While advocates have been working to try to preserve the program, we need to be clear that nothing currently exists or likely will exist anytime soon to replace it.
Some organizations and existing programs may help bridge some gaps for the 6,000 Philadelphians affected by this change, though.
It's important that those working with Philadelphia's most vulnerable know what's going on, so we hope you'll find this blog useful.
