This is the time of year that many building trades apprenticeship programs accept new applications.
The Plumbers, Steamfitters and Boilermaker’s and Carpenters Unions are all accepting applications, some only for a limited time in January 2020. See information and links below to encourage returning citizens to apply.
Local 690 Plumbers Union: Monday through Friday, January 6-10, 13-17, 2020 from 8am - 4pm.
Steamfitters 420 Union: Oct 28th to Apr 23, 2020 from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Local 13 Boilermaker Union: Applications will be distributed on the Last Wednesday of every month from 9am to 12pm.
Carpenters Joint Apprentice Committee: January 14-February 1, with the math test being held Saturday March 7, 2020. Applicants must apply in person with a $35 money order and photo ID.

Note: All programs require good math skills (measurements, fractions, decimals, geometry). Everyone should practice to be ready to be tested. See helpful links to online math lessons here or visit a local library or adult education center for help.
