The Facilities Technician’s role is to ensure that Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site’s facilities are safe, operational, well maintained, and suitable for all visitors and ESPHS staff. The Facilities Technician reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Waste/Recycling – ensure site trash cans are emptied at regular intervals
Landscaping – ensure greenery on site is maintained • Snow/Ice removal - ensure walkways on site are hazard free
Repair and Maintenance – Uses maintenance software to ensure all site equipment and assets are well maintained. This includes lighting, fire extinguishers, AHUs, heaters, fans, doors, locks, gates, vehicles, plumbing, equipment, internet/WIFI, artist installations, exhibits, A/V (including event equipment), ramps, signage, and roads.
Events – Set up and operate events as needed outside normal operating work hours.
Janitorial services – work with site staff and outside contractors to ensure offices, cellblocks, grounds, restrooms, etc. are clean and sanitary.
TBTW Temp Set-Up – Work in conjunction with the FM and TBTW Technical Crew to set up temporary buildings, lighting, and fencing in the fall.
Lift Capabilities - routinely carry loads of up to 50lbs.
Candidates must be punctual, have a positive attitude, and be good team players.
Standard summer hours are 8am-5pm. Saturday or Sunday shift (1 per week) required.
Some evening/night work is required year round and mandatory during the TBTW setup.
Compensation is $15.50/hour.
