
Temporary Job Description
The Mediation Coordinator is responsible for (1) intake, scheduling, case management, monitoring, and follow-up of all mediations, circle processes, victim-offender conferences, and other dialogue processes; (2) record keeping and reporting; (3) volunteer coordination; and (4) outreach, as needed. This position reports to the Program Administrators. Potential for full time and permanency.
Hours
24 hours per week: Monday-Friday. Exact times to be determined (but will be mostly constant). This is a part-time position with no benefits.
Specific Responsibilities
Intake:
Conduct intake interviews with individuals who request mediation services
Receive referrals from partner organizations and reach out to referred individuals
Invite responding parties to mediation
Refer parties to community resources, as appropriate
Case Management:
Schedule all mediations and assign mediators (volunteer or staff)
Follow-up with mediation participants one to three months after mediation
Maintain statistics (including volunteer hours) and prepare reports as needed
Volunteer Coordination:
Maintain contact information for all volunteers
Maintain appropriate clearances on volunteer mediators
Outreach: Assist with outreach efforts as assigned
Other duties as assigned, including supporting other Good Shepherd programs
Qualifications
College degree preferred
Previous intake experience at a nonprofit preferred
Previous experience in conflict resolution, mediation and/or restorative justice preferred
Expertise with Microsoft Office & Excel
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
Interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to work as a team member and manage conflict constructively
Enthusiasm for the mediation process and loyalty to the goals and objectives of GSMP
