Find Free Meals and Safe Spaces for Students While Schools are Closed


All schools within the School District of Philadelphia will be closed, Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, 2020.

The District is coordinating with the City’s Office of Children and Families, Parks & Recreation, and many other departments and nonprofit partners to provide meal service and activities in safe spaces throughout the city.

Essential personnel including a school police officer and other support staff will be on-site to distribute meals to students and families.

Where to Find Meals During the Week

Up to two shelf-stable meals for youth are available at these schools Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. – noon:

Parks & Recreation’s six older adult centers will remain open on a regular schedule (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) for meal service.

All other Parks & Recreation sites across the city will be closed to the public starting Monday, March 16. This includes environmental education centers, the Carousel House Recreation Center, and ice rinks.
