Free Industrial Maintenance Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Program

This program prepares you for entry-level employment in manufacturing careers, and for seamless entry into the Industrial Maintenance Technician Registered Apprenticeship program or continued education.

 

The program teaches the critical skills needed to find and keep employment in the industrial manufacturing field through the following courses:

  • Hydraulics (57 hours)

  • DC – AC Electricity (57 hours)

  • Electrical Wiring (44 hours)

  • Mechanical Systems (57 hours)

  • Introduction to Programmable Logic Controls (69 hours)

  • ACT WorkKeys (20 hours)

 

Additional program benefits include:

  • Interview preparation

  • Assistance identifying and applying for entry-level manufacturing positions

  • Certificate of completion

  • Enrollment to take the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI Mechatronics level 1) and the ACT National Career Readiness certification examinations

  • Unemployed or underemployed individuals

  • Out of school youth

  • Low-income individuals

  • Citizens with disabilities

  • Formerly incarcerated individuals

 

Minimum Entry Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent

 

Program Duration and Hours: 13 weeks, 284 hours
