Round 2 of SBA Program Open Now Through August 28th, Criminal Record Restrictions Have Been Relaxed

Round 2 of the COVID-19 PA Relief Statewide Small Business Assistance program is now open. This program will provide grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 to businesses economically impacted by COVID-19. To apply, click here.

The application window is open for 15 business days, from 9am on August 10th to 11:59pm on August 28th.

Please note, there has been a change in the criminal history eligibility. More business owners with criminal records are now eligible to apply for this grant program.

A business will only be excluded if a 20% owner is:

  1. Currently incarcerated

  2. Facing felony charges

  3. Within the last 5 years, has been convicted of or commenced parole/probation for any felony involving fraud, bribery, embezzlement, or a false statement in a loan application or an application for federal financial assistance

  4. Within the last year, has been convicted of or commenced parole/probation for any other felony.

Thins are otherwise the same as Round 1: Eligible businesses must apply through a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). If a business owner applied during the first application round, they do NOT need to reapply. Businesses should only submit one application and can do so through any of the CDFI's. All applications will go through the same approval process, so there is no need to apply to more than one agency. The application process is not first come, first serve.

Business owners who applied during the first application round will be notified.

Please encourage your network to apply if they missed round 1 and/or were deterred by the criminal history question.
