The Reentry Specialist will be an important addition to Broad Street Ministry’s growing Reentry Services team throughout 2021, reporting to the Director of Reentry Services. This is a full-time, on-site position, funded through a grant term of one year.
The scope of the Reentry Specialist position will focus on engaging and working with individuals experiencing deep poverty, housing and food insecurity, behavioral health challenges, and barriers associated with a criminal record or incarceration. Additionally, the Reentry Specialist will support the ongoing development of the reentry program. Working closely with our general case management team, the Reentry Specialist will work towards building trusting relationships with guests; conduct intakes and assessments to identify appropriate referrals; facilitate regular contact with guests to maximize retention and outcomes.
Knowledge of the criminal legal system and reentry resources in Philadelphia is strongly preferred. We especially encourage persons with lived experience to apply in order to center the voices of those directly impacted by mass incarceration and the criminal legal system.
