
Community College of Philadelphia is recruiting for two free programs starting in March.
Pathway to Advanced Manufacturing Program
The program includes classroom and technical, hands-on, skills instruction covering these topics: Introduction to Welding Technology, Introduction to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Precision Machining, DC-AC Electricity, Electrical Wiring, Winning Work Habits and more. Gain work-based learning opportunities, including meeting employer partners, guest speakers, and visiting factory and shop locations of potential employers.
By the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to earn industry credentials, including OSHA 10, and industry specific certifications through the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) and The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI).
Classes will be held Monday – Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., with three scheduled Saturday sessions.

Career Readiness Soft Skills Pre-Apprenticeship Program
The Career Readiness Soft Skills Pre-Apprenticeship program prepares participants for entry into employment, registered apprenticeship programs, or further education in any career field.
Through online instruction and national industry-recognized certification, you’ll learn the critical soft skills needed to find and keep employment including critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and life skills, budgeting, and basic math skills.
These skills are covered in the program through the following courses:
-Critical Thinking
-Working in Teams
-Problem Solving
-Interpersonal Communication
-Winning Work Habits Overview
-Life Skills
-Budget Basics
-Basic Math Review
-Participants will also receive individualized career counseling and support with résumé development, job searching and interview preparation.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of program completion from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and will be enrolled to take the ACT National Career Readiness Certification examination.
