THE POSITION
This position serves as assistant to the Deputy Secretary for Reentry and provides administrative support and assistance to the Deputy Secretary for Reentry in the performance of duties related to statewide Department administrative functions, agency initiatives, policy analysis, and bureau projects and responsibilities. This position also serves as the Housing Coordinator for the Department and advises senior leadership on evidence-based housing initiatives, changes in housing legislation, and housing initiatives in the Commonwealth. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Executive Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting research in the process of developing and revising DOC policies and procedures related to the reentry and housing initiatives, manage special projects, as assigned, and coordinate and manage all aspects of the DOJ BJA Pay for Success Initiative; “Expanding Permanent Supportive Housing to the Hardest to Serve” project. You will also coordinate and develop an effective housing strategy for the DOC and advises senior leadership on initiates, housing legislation impacts and provides strategic analysis of changes and recommends program/policy changes, provide support and resources to Department staff regarding reentry and housing, respond to correspondence, as needed. Collaborate with local, state, and federal housing partners to promote the Department’s housing initiatives, collaborate with federal, state and local reentry entities to provide connections and support to reentrants, assist reentrants with securing housing that is suitable for their reentry, this includes those that have been deemed Hard to Place, and perform other duties as assigned.
