Program Overview:

The Building an Understanding of Lab Basics (BULB) virtual learning opportunity is in partnership with eCLOSE Institute and funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the Lenfest Foundation. Moving towards workforce equity is our primary goal and we believe this is one of the first steps to making this happen. Participants will go through 2 sessions of training developed by eCLOSE Institute and gain lab environment skills including microscopy, gel electroscopes, DNA Isolation, ELISA assay and basic lab safety. Additionally, one session is devoted to financial literacy, instructed by Citizens Bank and the final session will be instructed by Harrisburg University professors. The final session will focus on cell & gene therapy concepts and principles. Participants will receive a laptop upon completion of the program, and they will have access to an industry employer mentor as the program concludes.
