Starting April 1, 2023, changes to federal law mean that Medicaid or CHIP recipients MUST renew their coverage every year or risk losing it! Recipients will NOT lose their health coverage if they complete a renewal or update their information. If they are no longer eligible for Medicaid or CHIP, they will automatically get connected to low- or no-cost health coverage from Pennsylvania.
Medicaid or CHIP recipients should take these steps right now to make renewal easier:
Update contact information with the Department of Human Services.
Sign up for email and text alerts to get information on coverage and renewals.
Complete renewals on time in order to keep coverage.
