The T.R.U.S.T. (The Road to an Ultimate Successful Transition) opportunity/program allows for immediate part-time, paid experience for returning citizens or individuals with active court-cases as well as those lost to employment or educational opportunities. Participants are connected to staff who can provide referrals to legal services, court advocacy and many other social service needs. T.R.U.S.T. participants engage in urban farming, workplace skill building, and virtual community building. T.R.U.S.T. programming is 10-16 1/2 hours per week, and participants are paid $75 per session (up to $375 per week, pre-tax). Participants are also given SEPTA passes to get to and from site.
Upon successful completion of T.R.U.S.T. participants will transition into the PowerCorpsPHL application process or referred to employment opportunities. PowerCorpsPHL is a 4- to 24-month, paid workforce development and AmeriCorps program designed to connect young adults 18 through 30 years of age to living wage careers in energy, infrastructure, urban forestry, construction, and community-based positions that enhance our communities. While in PowerCorpsPHL, Members can earn up $6,345.00 in Segal Education Awards.
Participants have a chance for job/training placement, as well as the possibility to participate in our upcoming Solar Installation academy as well as our newly announced January Cohort of PowerCorpsPHL, pending their success with TRUST. PowerCorpsPHL training unlocks careers in water, solar, urban forestry, skilled trades, engineering, youth work, and community-based careers.
