On May 6th DHS along with other city agencies will be hosting a Youth and Parent Resource Event at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Hall G. The. The purpose of this event is to connect community members with city-funded programs and support services that will raise awareness of opportunities and resources for individuals and families to support their transformation through education, employment, and capacity building.
The focus of this event is to create a safe and vulnerable space that will help individuals share their stories of some of the challenges and circumstances they are facing while providing that one-on-one peer support. With summer just around the corner, our city wants to ensure those who will be in attendance will have the opportunity to build relationships with our city employees and outside employers that will help those in need build confidence, creativity, and life skills in leadership and resiliency to help them thrive, today and tomorrow.
