This is an invitation to participate in the Reentry Career Fair and Occupational Advisory
Committee (OAC) events at the State Correctional Institute at Phoenix (SCI-PHX) on April 7, 2023.
The goal of the Reentry Career Fair is to connect employers with our inmate population for possible job opportunities upon their release. We will also share community agency resources related to the acquisition of housing, clothing, food, social services, and future training opportunities.
The purpose of the OAC event is to strengthen vocational program offerings by connecting instructors with business, industry, and community partners. We are interested in building informal and ongoing relationships with industry representatives to provide recommendations for program improvement and technical assistance to stay in tune with current industry standards. This network will also serve to support inmates with employment.
The Reentry Career Fair will be held from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by an OAC luncheon from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Our current vocational program offerings at SCI-PHX are Carpentry, Warehouse Operations and Material Handling, Building Custodial Maintenance, Restaurant Trades, and Barbering.
